i need to sell some of my masks but im not selling them
im not selling, just making a point that needs to be said
Hello. I’ll try to add new articles about things that’ve been mentioned, but nobody’s wrote anything about
For example, I created the R-2 page, EO-20-K/P, the EO-65-K, the KRV-M, the MKR, and KRV-BE.
basically, what I’m saying, if you need an article, just ask me to create it.
Irish FM12
Hello all :) Wanted to share an FM12 that was on display and free to try on at an Óglaigh na hÉireann booth from a post-secondary careers convention I went to for school. I thought I'd share as the wiki has plenty of much higher quality photos of the FM12 but none from the Republic (as if that changes anything), and I thought it was cool to see an Irish mask because Ireland has little to no history surrounding gas masks and respirators, being a neutral country. I can't read what the torn sticker says so I'm not sure what filter is attached to it, so any guesses are appreciated.
what are your favorite gasmasks?
i just wanted to ask you guys what are your favorite gasmasks included in this wiki or not
Chinese copies of the Israeli civilian gas mask
The ones that I mean the original ones are the Model 4 and the Model 4A1. Both are made by Shalon Chemical Industries Ltd based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Both are intended for civil defense purposes. Both are reliable masks for their own purposes.
As soon as I've received the latest information about this matter, I'll update this blog.
Z-B-R2-V and "TF-1" filter
As far as I aware, the Z-B-R2-V filter has been used since MF-11 been made. In regards to it, I might have a bit information on it after browsing some online merchant sites like Shopee, Lazada, and AliExpress. I also got some information from dodgy websites too. So, should I make a page on this filter? If so, it'll might take me a while to do so.
Also, on regards on the "TF-1" filter on the hand, there's two sizes of them, of which they are available in "normal" and coffee can style (and the coffee can style is the most common size of it). I punctured one a while ago and there's no asbestos to it. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of it. So, once again, if I have enough info on it, which might take a few months more thanks to my inabil…
French ARF-A Carrier

GSR Update

What type of gas mask it is?
Syrian footage from Jom Kippur war in 1973. Gas mask in bag - what type it is? I think soviet SchM41 or polish SzM41. What are you thinking about?
Common ways of modifying masks
For some, modifying masks is a hobby. It can be done for many reasons, either as art, for cosplay purpouses, or simply for fun. This is especially popular in Eastern Europe, as masks are in abundance there. There is a lot of controversy around this subject, as sometimes, the masks in question are damaged irreparably, and this is unacceptable to most collectors in cases of rare or uncommon masks. These modified masks may sometimes confuse collectors, so lets take a look at some of the most common ways
This is especially popular in eastern europe, due to how masks were standartized there, a common example is taking the I/O assembly from a GP5 mask, and putting in an assembly from a GP4 mask, this is most often done for fun, or to be sold as a…
New rules and updates
Hi everyone,
As you may have noticed, Wikia have updated their policies on Blocks and as such, we have had to update our local policy too.
Most of these changes to the policy are just us putting in writing our current practices and so you're unlikely to see much of a change on how we run our Wiki.
Effective immediately, we have made the following changes to our block policy:
- Anonymous users may be subject to an immediate block if they break any of our rules
- Registered users will receive up to two warnings before being blocked (still at the Administrator's discretion)
- Updated block escalations - first time, 1 week; second time, 2 weeks; third time 1 month; fourth time, 1 year. Depending on how severe the infraction was, we may choose to impose a …
S10 mask designations
Recently i've uncovered the designations for the S10's facepieces themselves, which are the L2A1 and L3A1 the difference between the 2 rests in the lenses, the L2A1 is the normal S10 lenses and also the most common, which is where they sit flush with the rim on the outer side while the L3A1 doesnt as to allow for optical correction inserts to be used.
And a quick fun fact: the drinking cap is called the L9A1
Yes im going to add this to the wiki soon with better photos.
Military Protective Masks Come to the Rescue
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7409952/
Tracheotomy is frequently indicated for patients with COVID-19 suffering from severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The French Army Biomedical Research Centre provided our hospital with military masks equipped with P3 filter cartridges and an integrated ventilation unit that would allow safe performance of this procedure when faced with a high risk of virus transmission (Figure 1). FFP2 or FFP3 masks can provide proper protection, as these masks have an efficiency of 95%–99% when tested with 0.30 µm particles. However, their efficacy for SARS-CoV-2 protection has not been explored, and the virus has a smaller calibre (0.1–0.15 µm).1 An additional concern is the potential risk of prog…

Rare Class B Goodyear MIAI-I-I with E41 R81 mold
As you can see this Class B Goodyear mask uses a quite interesting E41 R81 mold. Which up until now seemed only to have been made out of black rubber. This face piece is dated 11-40. which was the last month before they switched to the newer E41 R85 mold making this possibly one of the last Goodyear training masks that used this mold.
My personal blog
Hi, I am Matthew and I live in Slovakia, by the way... many people dont even know where it is :D. Anyway... I joined the Gas Mask and Respirator Wiki because I have been collecting gas mask for about a year now, and I wanted to also create something useful and help you guys to grow this wiki about gas masks and stuff.
Is this filter safe?
Hi all, i recently purchased a Pmg Gas Mask and a filter to go with it. However I am unsure about the safety of the filter and if it contains asbestos. I am unsure if it is a Gp-5 filter as it does not show any of the markings. I did use for about 5 minutes though I think I should be safe. Thanks in advance.
purchase a German filter from the 90s
Hey all thanks for the add I recently purchased a German filter since 1990 I was simply wondering if it would be safe to wear for riot control tear gas
My GM54 is made by Auer
so like the title said, I have an GM54 German gas mask and it’s made by Auer. The wiki page for the GM54 says that the mask was produced by Dräger only so should the page be updated a bit or?
JSDF's New Gas Mask
This is an TYPE-18 Gas mask.
It was officially adopted by JSDF in 2018 and started to be delivered in that year.
We need a page for the PDF-7 gas mask

Gas mask ID
Can someone pls ID this mask I picked in Hungary a few years ago.
I hope my photo posted.
Is this an ShM-41M or something else?
I’ve got an SchM-41M but I’m not sure if it’s an exported ShM-41M or some other mask like an Czech M60. I’m bringing this up because the mask I’m showing here has unusual markings on it for an Soviet mask. For one there is no date stamp molded into the rubber of the mask instead it’s been stamped on the inner hood for what I can tell. Though it does still have stamps in Cyrillic on the mask. This is very confusing. I will try to provide pictures.
Drager M65
Yeah, I'm one of those folks who got a gas mask because of COVID19. But I had a couple of masks when I was a kid; US civil defense child's mask (second version) and an M17. Anyway, there is a guy on the 'bay selling M65's with the carry cannister and destructions. Mine dates from '73 and is in excellent condition. The fellow thru in a GP5 which was not part of the posting. I texted him and said he needed to reconsider tossing in freebie filters due to the well-document hazards others have discussed ad nauseum. I also ordered one of the Italian brown filters with the 40mm neck (comes in a can). Totally non-related...but here is a photo of my nephew working the Graniteville rail car chlorine accident where several folks died.

Question about E-014 coffee can filter.
Why do people call E-014 (E dash zero fourteen) a "EO-14" or "E-014"? It's litteraly written on a can: "E-014"? I don't want to be rude, I'm just really curious why. P.S. I know that the filter in a picture is a FP-203.
Broken Exhale Valve
Hello, I've recently bought a french ARF-A gas mask, and the exhale valve is broken, is there a way to fix it?
Best mask for around £60 ($69)?
Hi everyone, im looking for a mask for around £60, ive looked at the s10 but they have inflated loads and i have no clue what to get. Are there any fairly modern military masks to fit my budget? Thanks.
How to wash?
I recently bought my first mask (ShM-41) and felt like i need to wash it before i wear it... Would i wash it with just soap and hot water, a certain chemical, or just not wash it? (Sorry i’m new to gas masks)
Talc in my eye
I’m curious if any of you guys have gotten talc in your eye while wearing a Soviet mask, I recently got some in my right eye after putting my MUA on. What should I do about it.
Any cheap masks that are good and safe?
Looking at about 50-70 dollars USD . I need some old World War Two masks that may be German or American. Reccomendations?
Should I buy a Czech M10 Gas Mask?
I sort of think they are cool, but they are so expensive! I read the wiki for them, but I could not make out any pros or cons from it. I also need an answer if the M10 filters are safe ,and if not, what filter to buy to replace them. Thanks for any help!
A new hobby
Welcome, due to the recent turmoil from my home town I have started to pay attention to gas mask and all sorts of respirators 5 years ago. After learning some basic knowledge on the topic it started to grow into a hobbit and now part of my collection.
Info on MK221 MK212/1
Found an interesting comment about the MK-221 mask on the comment section on this video, a user called 'JejeX' claims to have received an email from Faser themselves.
According to Fasers email:
MK-221 was made from 1976 to 1983
MK-212/1 made from 1983 to 1998
MK -221/2 made from 1998 onwards
Faser themselves say the change from MK-221 to MK-212/1 was made because of a new technical standard called 'PN-78/Z-02006/01'.
I looked up the above technical standard and indeed it looks to be relating to respiratory protection.
However, there is a discrepancy.
This website claims to have an MK-221 made in 1975 which clearly goes against what Faser says.
Asbestos in British filters
Why does literally every article about British civilian masks on this wiki have that 'Crocidolite' warning, but none of the other asbestos containing gas masks do? What's up with the 'bLuE aSbEsToS iS 100 TiMeS MoRe DaNgErOuS' - whilst crocidolite asbestos is known to have finer fibres than white asbestos, all asbestos is more than capable of giving you lung cancer so saying one type is more dangerous than another is fairly redundant.
Making a PH hood
Decided to sew my own PH hood. Originals are a bit too much for me, and the 40E for a low quality replica is overpriced as hell. So why not sew my own, the design is simple enough I guess. Im making it out of a tan colored canvas like fabric, the holder of the flapper will be made out of a non drip plastic bottlecap, the flapper itself probably paper, or actual rubber if I manage to find some. Otherwise lenses are just some thin and cheap plastic out of a plastic fruit container, lens holder will be just for show, being only out of cardboard or some similiar low quality material. All im waiting for now is for someone to reply for my cries for the dimensions
Hungarian masks summary table
NOT COMPLETE! I write this post to give that information to people which I think don’t fit in the articles of individual masks but can be interesting to someone. This is not a too serious post but contains useful pieces of information and nearly all masks used in Hungary before 2000.
- 1915: The first Hungarian masks were wet hoods. These were steeped with HaOH, NH4NO3 and used with a “lot” success against the phosgene attacks on the Italian front. Very rare mostly because these are canvas bags with glasses.
- 1916: 1917M mask issued. Only masks with K. u. K. stamp can be 1917M otherwise it is an GM-15. Very rare.
- 1917: GM-17 issued as 1917K, rare.
- 1927: Probably Auer 747/G masks used in the industry. Rare.
- 1928: 27M repaired 1917M masks with the sa…
Snakes and ladders!
I found this very neat picture of a snakes and ladders made for the civilian population by the UNPA (Unione Nazionale Protezione Antiaerea, national air-raid protection union). The reason I post this in this wiki is that there are multiple gas mask images inside it representing rare gas masks, some of which I can't recognize!
Now I'll list the masks drawn on this game
N. 8 : S.I.P. 1
N. 15 : S.R. 1
N. 21: P45
N. 35: P43
N. 43: S.I.P. 3
N. 49: S.I.P. 2
N. 55: Undefined, probably an S.R. 1
N. 63: Pr.C.33 or T.32
How to convert a GP-5 to 40 mm NATO (works with every 40 mm mask)
DISCLAIMER: This article is not meant as a guide to make Russian masks CBRN rated, but a simple procedure to use NATO filters on GOST mask for simple DIY jobs. This tecnique puts stress on the thread, so it's not recommended for long time periods and/or rare masks.

Well I have the filter that the mask came from,an EO.1.08.01,still it is a filter with no info and there are other info on filters that I had questions on like,if you use a filter in an non-harzadous enviroment will it worn out?and if I use an expired filter what happens?
