United States M-17 Gas Mask Prototype
October 21, 2012
This is an early production M-17 gas mask that was made during the final proving stages to sell the final design to the army.
While this mask is practically identical to the production M-17 masks that made it to production, there are a few minor variations.
For one the filter intake disks are much different than the production ones, we see a handy pull tab on them to help with removal. (This was eventually found to be too flimsy for practical, multiple uses)
We also seen the United States Chemical Corps. raised on the front of the voice emitter cover instead of the standard M.S.A stamp.
Overall a very cool piece, any questions please ask.
